Engineered for Precision: High-Purity Alumina Lab Crucibles (99.2% – 99.4%)

This Lab Sample Pack (5 Pcs/Lot) is specifically configured for university laboratories, material research institutes, and corporate R&D testing. Manufactured directly at our specialized technical ceramic facility, these cylindrical alumina crucibles deliver uncompromising thermal stability and chemical resistance for your most demanding high-temperature applications—while completely bypassing local distributor markups.

Capacity-Matched Disruption: Factory-Direct Pricing Advantage

Why pay exorbitant local retail prices when you can buy directly from the manufacturer? In laboratory applications, volumetric capacity is the key metric. We guarantee the exact same high-purity slip-cast quality, larger volume capacities, and absolute factory-direct pricing.

Custom Dimensions, Molds, and CNC Machining

Our slip-cast molds are engineered to optimize material load capacities. While the outer dimensions of the selected sizes above may vary slightly from standard distributor models, our volumetric capacities ensure your R&D sample loads fit perfectly at a fraction of the cost.

  • Need Exact Dimensions? The sizes listed are merely a selection of our online inventory. We maintain a vast library of existing molds to match specific distributor dimensions. If a mold doesn’t exist, we offer rapid custom mold-making to your exact specifications.

  • Precision Machining: We provide specialized deep processing including micro-hole drilling (down to 0.5mm) and internal threading on crucible bases. After CNC machining, our dimensional tolerances can be controlled to an exceptional ±0.02mm.

  • Custom Geometries & Thickness: Our advanced slip-casting process allows for diverse custom shapes (including curved parts and solid rods). We can accommodate thick-walled plates up to 20-25mm, as well as ultra-thin precision components with 1mm wall thickness for items under 10mm in diameter.

The Slip-Casting Advantage: Absolute Zero Water Absorption

Unlike cheap, dry-pressed crucibles that harbor microscopic internal voids, our crucibles are manufactured using an advanced slip-casting and high-temperature densification process.

  • Zero Cross-Contamination: The ultra-dense, 0.00% water absorption surface physically prevents molten metals, reactive fluxes, and chemical slags from penetrating the ceramic wall.

  • Superior Lifespan: Eliminates internal structural corrosion and surface “powdering,” ensuring your samples remain pure while significantly extending the crucible’s service life across multiple thermal cycles.

Technical Specifications

  • Material Composition: 99.2% – 99.4% High-Purity Alumina (Al2O3)

Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) & Usage Guidelines

To maximize the lifespan of your alumina crucibles and prevent catastrophic thermal shock, please strictly adhere to the following laboratory guidelines:

  1. Heating & Cooling Rates: Alumina is highly sensitive to rapid temperature changes. Never exceed a ramp rate of 5°C per minute. For optimal longevity, a heating/cooling rate of 2°C to 3°C per minute is strongly recommended.

  2. Pre-Conditioning (Bake-Out): Before the first use, heat the empty crucibles to 1050°C at a slow rate to eliminate any residual moisture absorbed during international transit.

  3. Placement: Do not place hot crucibles directly onto cold surfaces (such as metal lab benches or cold refractory bricks). Always use a ceramic support plate or allow them to cool naturally inside the closed furnace.

  4. Maintenance: Thanks to the zero-porosity structure, standard acid washing (e.g., 10% HCl solution) followed by a deionized water rinse is usually sufficient for complete decontamination. For detailed protocols, please refer to our blog post How to Clean Ceramic Crucibles Guide.

Important Order Notice for Online Buyers

  • Sample Pack Policy: This item is sold strictly as a bundle of 5 identical crucibles to ensure safe international transit and cost-effective shipping for R&D testing.

  • Liability: Thermal shock cracking caused by exceeding the maximum recommended heating/cooling rates (5°C/min) is considered user error and is not covered under transit damage warranties.

  • Bulk & Ultra-High Purity Procurement: If your laboratory requires customized dimensions, bulk volumes (>50 pieces), or ultra-high purity material (>99.5% Al2O3), please do not order online. Contact our export director directly via the Request a Quote form for optimized factory-direct pricing and technical consulting.
